Unmotivated

Unmotivated... It pretty much sums up how I've been feeling this past week. Just BLAH! I gained a little last week, and haven't made the best food choices and my exercise has well, decreased. I  haven't been religiously logging  my foods and exercise either.  Kinda depressing huh? Well today I jumped on the scale annnndddddd...

I lost 3.4 pounds!!! I also hit one of my mini goals witch is to get out of the 200's club! I now weigh 199.6!!! I will give myself another week before I make the official announcement that I am out of the 200's club!!
I feel so energized! So excited! I feel motivated again!!! Woo Hoo!!

You can change your life by changing your heart...

I ran a 5K this past Saturday!!!! Can you tell I'm a little excited? There are a couple reasons for my enthusiasm. This was my very first 5K that I ran. meaning I didn't walk... At all! I am still a VERY slow runner. My time was 46:54, but I did it! 2 1/2 months ago, I couldn't even run a whole minute without huffing and puffing and getting sick to my stomach and now I can run a whole 5K!  I've  got two more weeks on my current training program, (Couch 2 5K, for those who want to know) Then it will be time to set some more goals.

New goals for me include improving my current pace, and building up to a 10K. I plan on using the Bridge 2 10K program. It's for graduates of the Couch 2 5K. I never thought I would like running as much as I have! It is a workout you can do in little time for very cheap! I also find it is easier to handle stress, I feel I have been more patient as a wife and mother! There are health benefits too! I have lost about 16 pounds so far! Woo-Hoo! It's also great for your bones, building muscle, and your heart.. Yes, and your heart.. I saved the best for last.
This race, Go red for women, was put on by the American Heart Association. This was a first annual Go red race in my area! We were the grass roots of a very good thing. My family and I did this race in honor of my dad who passed away 6 months ago from a massive heart attack.  We know he would be proud of of all of us. We wanted to do something positive and healthy to honor him. Our family plans on doing this race annually, in his name. We hope to put the word out how serious heart disease is. It is truly the "Silent Killer."

I hope one day just maybe we can find a cure for heart disease. For now though, eating right and exercise are the best ways to prolong your life. Stock up on Fruits, Veggies and Whole Grains, and  get some type  of cardio  exercise at least 30 minutes 5-6 days a week. Do this for you! Start today!
